Pre-employment requirements in the Philippines

For the past two years, I worked from home as web developer for a foreign company. And now, I am having office-based employment for the first time. I already did office-based work before for 7 months, but that was only internship, not yet employment.

After some time and effort, I received some job offers from companies in various places – Makati, Ortigas, and Quezon City. I wanted to avoid Makati, dreading the wearisome commute that I already experienced during internship, but the offer I accepted is actually from the company at Makati. The position they offered me is what I think would best help build me up for my career goals, and so I decided to just overlook the difficulty in commute. After all, difficulty is part of life. 🙂

The pre-employments in the company where I’m about to work are as follows:

  • Transcript of Records
  • Certificate of Graduation or Diploma
  • SSS ID Number – How to get SSS Number
  • TIN (Tax Identification Number) Number
  • NBI clearance – How to get NBI Clearance | 2013 Experience in getting an NBI Clearance
  • Medical clearance (from any hospital or clinic)
  • Copy of Birth Certificate – How to get birth certificate
  • Certificate of Employment (CoE) from last employer *
  • HDMF (Pag-Ibig) number *
  • Pag-Ibig Printed Contribution: How to get Pag-IBIG Contribution Printout
  • PhilHealth number *
  • SSS Contribution and Loan Status List *
  • BIR Form 2316 *
  • Copy of SSS E4/E1
  • Copy of Community Tax Number (The number on your Cedula or Community Tax Certificate)
  • Copy of Marriage Certificate (if Married)
  • Copy of Dependents Birth Certificate (if any)
  • 4 pcs 2×2 photo
  • 4 pcs 1×1 photo
  • 2 passport-size pictures (colored)

* If previously employed

And right now, I think I’m all good except with the NBI Clearance where I had a “hit” during application. I hate my name. lol.

I plan to make a list of many, if not all, possible pre-employment requirements in the Philippines here, and hopefully, to also link to articles with procedures on how to acquire them. Please comment if you have any pre-employment requirement to suggest for addition to this list. 🙂
